Abstract

“Dalit Feminism: Converging Caste, Gender, and Social Justice in India” delves into the lived realities of Indian Dalit women, exploring the intricate relationship between caste and gender identities within the feminist discourse. This paper scrutinizes the systemic discrimination faced by Dalit women resulting from the amalgamation of their gender and caste, addressing the various challenges such as economic inequality, social exclusion, limited access to healthcare and education, and inadequate political representation. Additionally, it examines the genesis and evolution of Dalit feminist movements, shedding light on the resilient efforts of Dalit women to challenge established power hierarchies and advocate for social justice. The paper also showcases stories of transformation and empowerment within Dalit communities, emphasizing the significance of recognizing Dalit feminism as an integral part of the broader feminist discourse.
