Abstract Dalit women’s autobiographies serve as crucial archives of information, offering a voice to those whose voices have been suppressed due to the triple burden of gender, caste, and class. Dalits, formerly known as “untouchables,” have a painful past that cannot be narrated all at once. Hence, it is called “Literature of pain” by Sharankumar Limbale. This paper explores the narratives of these discarded people written by two Dalit women, Bama and Baby Kamble. Their life narratives shed light on the economic hardships, social status, and education system faced by Dalits and how the teachings of Dr. Ambedkar inspired them to confront their challenging circumstances.
