Urb., widely utilised in traditional medicine, has drawn a lot of scientific interest in the area of developing plant-based drugs. This review aims to critically evaluate the phytochemical and pharmacological importance of C. asiatica, focusing on its traditional uses, chemical constituents, and validated bioactive ingredients. The plant's aerial parts and roots have been recognised for their medicinal properties and have shown various pharmacological activities. Through a comprehensive examination of the available literature, this review highlights the scientific evidence supporting the traditional uses of species and it consists of several bioactive compounds. Furthermore, it emphasises the need for future studies to discover additional bioactive compounds and elucidate their mechanisms of action. The findings presented in this review shed light on the significance of C. asiatica in drug discovery and pave the way for further exploration.
