Abstract A large number of medicinal plants are being used today to bring about traditional cure of inflammatory conditions, yet many of them need to be properly investigated and scientifically validated for the same. Potential active constituents from Trigonella foenum-graecum (Fenugreek) have been isolated and purified. A comprehensive overview of the phytochemical analysis of the seed extract and the literature survey carried out for the antiinflammatory potential and the other medicinal properties of fenugreek seeds.
