Online published on 16 December, 2017. Abstract This study was carried out to analyse the usage of social media by women lawyers of Lucknow. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data from a representative sample of 210 women lawyers, of which 156 respondents completed and returned the questionnaire correctly. The study found that a majority of women lawyers use social media. Apps like WhatsApp and Facebook are the most used social media sites. Most of the women lawyers access social media sites daily. A percentage of 21.8 of the women lawyers who use social media are in the age group of 26–30 years, and the mean age of them is 39.2. They also think that social media is a good source for getting information. A percentage of 63.5 women lawyers are using social media for professional purpose. A number of female lawyers use social media/social networking sites for education and for current awareness purpose, and it also helps them in research and learning, though they indicated that lack of full-fledged internet facility and fear of misuse of personal information are the main concerns regarding usage of social media sites Top Keywords Social media, Social networking, Communication behaviour, Women, Lawyers, Information seeking, Lucknow.
