Abstract The paper intends to study the publishing pattern of faculty members in University of Hyderabad discipline wise over a period of 5 years ranging from 2012–2013 to 2016–2017. It elaborates the publications published in different forms such as Books, Research papers, Book reviews/Conference proceedings/Mimeographs and Patents. Average percentage of publications school wise shows that the maximum percentage of 15.26 is recorded from school of Life Sciences, followed by School of Physics with 14.51%. School of Humanities 12.97%, other centres and Library being 11.99%. The publication pattern is ongoing in every aspect and also patents in sciences are seen. Thus the University is ranked in fifth position at the national level, rated by National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
