Online published on 7 April, 2020. Abstract The study compares two different ranks, namely, India Rankings and Webometric ranks, which use composite indicators. IITs which figure in India Rankings 2018 were considered for the study. Webometric analysis of these IIT websites was carried out. The websites were ranked based on Webometric ranking indicators. Spearman's rank order correlation test was conducted on NIRF ranks and Webometric ranks. The test reported a high degree of positive correlation (rho=0.824) between the two sets of ranks. The correlation was statistically significant (p-value = 0.001). The study makes certain recommendations to improve the Web visibility of IIT websites.
