Global research trends on coronavirus pandemic (2001-2020): A bibliometric study

Abstract

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic affecting the whole Universe and resulting in many fatalities in the world. It becomes a medical emergency from the epidemic, as the outbreak is ongoing; the global scientific community is seriously focused on COVID-19 research to identify the cause, clinical features and examine the clinical characteristics of COVID-19 for developing the possible vaccines. As a result, there is a rapid growth of research output generated on the subject. The present study aims to explore the global research trends of Coronavirus past twenty years (2001-2020) with a bibliometric reference. The data retrieved from Web of Science core collection database published from January 01, 2001, to August 05 2020.
