Abstract

Biometric or Biometrics are the authentication techniques that are based on individual unique characteristics. They have been used for various purposes everywhere. Library professionals have also started thinking of using biometrics in library and information centres (LICs). Every medium of authentication has its own advantages and disadvantages. This paper briefly discussed different types of biometric methods and possible applications of them in LICs.
