Abstract

The article shed light on the challenges of Panchayati Raj in Kashmir Valley. The article concentrates on the Pre 5, August 2019 situation. The state of Jammu and Kashmir is a different state as compared to other states. Moreover, this state has a lot of geopolitical importance for India. The state has been in the national and international media since 1947 because of the tussle between India and Pakistan. Because of this tussle between India and Pakistan, the political environment of the state was much affected and voices against accession were developed which resulted in, the different governments of the central and state remaining active to handle these challenges’ the consequence of which Panchayati Raj remains unaddressed significantly.
