Online published on 22 March, 2013. Abstract The Antimicrobial potential of Saussurea lappa Clarke. against certain microorganisms was studied using agar diffusion method. The aqueous and ethanolic extract of S. lappa roots significantly inhibited the growth of microorganisms as compared to standard bactericide and fungicide drugs. Diethyl ether fraction exhibited prominent fungicidal activity against Candida albicans. Gentamycin, Streptomycin and Fluconazole were used as positive controls.
