Online published on 21 August, 2018. Abstract A growing health hazard worldwide is the chronic disease, Asthma. Asthma patients if not treated properly at the right time could lead to death. This project aims to test and detect symptoms of asthma via innovative smart phone application that can provide self-assisted health care. In order to ensure that doctors can provide suitable medical treatments, its very important to develop accurate devices that monitors these disease symptoms. Handheld devices like the Peak Expiratory flow(PEF) and other devices that are commercially available suffers from disadvantages like bulky, incapability to provide real-time data plot, expensive and inconvenience to use it. This working model focuses on the research headway of self assistance for asthma patients using android application, where the patients are made aware about the medicines they are medicated with by displaying the medicines and an audio is enabled which orally spells the medicines prescribed.
