Two simple spectrophotometric methods for the simultaneous determination of benzocaine and phenazone Khayata Warid, Zakri Duaa AL* Department of Analytical and Food Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Aleppo, Syria *Corresponding Author E-mail: duaa.alzakri@gmail.com
Online published on 24 August, 2018. Abstract Simple, specific, accurate and precise spectrophotometric methods were developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of Benzocaine and Phenazonein their pure form and pharmaceutical dosage form. Two spectrophotometric methods were applied: derivative ratio spectra and absorbance ratio method. The linearity range for the spectrophotometric methods was found to be (0.3–30μg/mL) and (0.7–30μg/mL) for benzocaine and phenazone respectively in derivative ratio method and to be (0.5–27μg/mL) and (0.7–30μg/mL) for benzocaine and phenazone respectively in absorbance ratio method. Both methods were simple, sensitive, ecofriendly and don't need a special program, so they could be easily applied as alternative methods to LC methods in quality control laboratories lacking the required facilities for those techniques. Top Keywords Benzocaine, phenazone, derivative ratio spectra, absorbance ratio method. Top | |
