Abstract

Aim

To check the awareness about nocturia in a selected population.

Background

Nocturia is the complaint that the individual has to wake up at night one or more times to void. Nocturia is often a symptom of other medical conditions including urological infection, a tumor of the bladder or prostate, a condition called bladder prolapse, or disorders affecting sphincter control. It is also common in people with heart failure, liver failure, poorly controlled diabetes mellitus, or diabetes insipidus. Pregnancy and diuretic medications are also associated with nocturia.

Materials and Methods

The aim of the survey is to check the awareness about nocturia among the patients in a private dental hospital. The survey is done as a questionnaire either they are aware of nocturia or not. The questionnare is framed under the criteria with knowledge, causes, complications, diagnosis, management methods.

Reason

To create awareness about nocturia among people.
