Online published on 12 January, 2017. Abstract Aim The aim of the review is about MBT system in orthodontics. Objective The objective of this review is to know the appliance and methods of MBT system in orthodontics from various studies. Background The MBT appliance was introduced by MacLaughlin, Bennet, and Trevisi in 1998. They claim that the increased palatal root torque in the upper incisors improves upon the under-torqued appearance produced by other prescriptions and the increased labial root torque in the lower incisor counteracts the forward tipping during leveling. To date, there have been no scientific studies to support these claims. The MBT System brings together appliances and methods in these different areas into one technique. It provides a systemized approach to treatment, one that incorporates time-tested innovation and experience and the development of new methods and technologies. Conclusion From this review the appliance and methods of MBT system will be concluded Top | |
