Abstract

Education and learning are among the most important of all human activities and always been the principal means of creating productive and sustainable societies. According to UNESCO “Education for all Global Monitoring Report”, 2010 there are estimated 150 million children in the world with disabilities, about four-fifths of them in developing countries…Beyond their immediate health related effects, physical and mental impairments carry a stigma that often leads to exclusion from society and from school. The number of children with special education needs has grown in the past 20 years due to increased diversity in communities and better diagnostic tools. The inclusion of children with disabilities in mainstream schools promotes universal primary completion, is cost effective and contributes to the elimination of discrimination. Thus the most important issue underlying the success of inclusion is the acceptance of diversity in general which includes differences in race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender and academic skills. Teachers have to deal with a variety of learning abilities which makes teaching a complex activity. ICT can be of great help to meet these challenges of increasing diversity of today's classrooms. Students with disabilities, especially those eligible for special education, have learning problems and education must be provided with the effective instructional technologies to make them successful. This research paper is an effort to assess the awareness of Inclusive Education and ICT among In-service and Pre-Service teachers, as well as the role of ICT in the successful implementation of Inclusive education.
