Energy Diplomacy: Key to India’s Economic Strength Tripathi Snigdha Research Scholar, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India Email id: shwetaat2910@gmail.com
Online Published on 27 February, 2024. Abstract Emerging India continues to rely significantly on imported energy resources to meet its needs. For this reason, it must spend excessive amounts on energy-related imports. In order to tackle this issue and address domestic concerns, India’s foreign policy prioritizes building strong ties and negotiating bilateral and multilateral agreements with nations possessing abundant energy resources. India has to diversify its energy sources and advance towards carbon-free growth to promote sustainable development. The utilization of renewable energy is crucial in this regard, and India must simultaneously increase its capabilities in the relevant sector. The Integrated Energy Policy rightly emphasizes the connection between India’s stable energy supply and its economic prosperity. Today, energy security is essential, and it is pertinent to advancing the national interests of India. An increasingly significant part of India’s foreign policy now involves energy diplomacy. This paper examines India’s energy diplomacy in this study with regard to the availability and use of alternative renewable energy sources.
