Abstract

Skills relating to Management, planning and leadership are always of paramount importance within organizations; where supervisors have the mandate to get the works effectively done by their subordinates. Thus, to achieve their performance objectives, supervisors are called to have a very good understanding of a wide range of managerial skills and mainly those relating to planning, communication, control, conflicts resolution, motivation; and time management. All other things remaining equal, the cutting edge of the competitiveness between organizations potentially relies on the way activities are being carried out. Therefore, eliminating or narrowing supervisors’ performance shortcomings in set of skills areas identified will be a highly strategic approach that will boost the business organisation towards expected results. This study sought to evaluate the effect of management, planning and leadership training programs by surveying a sample of 50 employees that attended management, planning and leadership training programme. The effect was evaluated in terms of training participants’ behaviour change and organisation business performance improvement. The Study findings reveal that both employees’ behaviour and their work unit performance were significantly impacted with respectively 90% and 89% as the overall cumulative percentage of both agree and totally agree points of the rating scale. Findings imply that employees should be equipped with skills relating to management, planning and leadership to ensure the performance improvement of the organization business.
