The competencies and their impact on organisational effectiveness with special reference to bank employees in Mangalore region

Abstract

The main factor that determines the success of an organization is skilled manpower. Competency of an employee will affect his performance and performance in turn will affect the profitability of an organisation. As a result this paper attempts to measure the impact of competencies on the level of organisational effectiveness. The research study was both exploratory and descriptive. Primary data was collected through structured questionnaires from the employees of Canara and Syndicate bank. Four competency groups that are personal competencies, selling competencies, communication skill and customer relationship management and their impact on organisational effectiveness were analysed using statistical software SPSS.20. Altogether four competency groups and three factors of organisational effectiveness were analysed. The study found that there is a positive relationship between competencies and organisational effectiveness.
