Abstract This study is confined to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) namely Juangs in Keonjhar district of Odisha. A sample of 960 respondents was drawn from the universe. The study is based on both quantitative and qualitative data collected from different villages of the district. The purpose of the study is to measure the Social and Economic impact of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), that is, Juangs in Keonjhar district of Odisha. We have 20 micro-projects to see all-around development, who are economically weak, whose population is either stagnant or in the process of decline, whose literacy level is very low and are inhabiting in a remote contiguity. The Juangs, one of the 13 PVTGs living within the micro-project area of Juang Development Agency (JDA), Keonjhar were identified as its beneficiaries. The design of the proposed study is descriptive as well as exploratory in nature. The simple random sampling method is used and the study is based on secondary as well as primary data and various statistical tools have been applied in order to analyse, display and discuss the collected data. This article is based on an empirical survey of 960 respondents. An attempt has also been made to assess the socio-economic impact by using Social index and Economic index.
