Abstract

This research work is intended to analyse training needs of the managers by understanding their perception towards various factors. Training needs of the managers have been analysed under the dimensions of leadership, interpersonal relationship, patient, superior and management- and personality-related factors. The study has sampled 60 managers from four paramedical areas, namely nursing, pharmacy, medical laboratory and radiography, in private multi-speciality hospitals in Tirunelveli city, Tamil Nadu using both convenient and judgement sampling techniques. Structured questionnaire prepared by the researcher using Likert's 5-point scale has been used to collect primary data. Percentage analysis has been used to understand perception of managers towards various training needs. Mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation were administered to compare dimensions of training needs analysis. The results of the study proved that majority of the respondents are in need of training almost in all dimensions of training needs discussed in this study.
