Online published on 23 May, 2017. Abstract A descriptive correlational research was conducted among 100 alcoholics at selected villages Thiruvallur district using purposive sampling technique. The data collection tools utilized were CAGE questionnaire, Severity of Alcohol Dependence Questionnaire and WHO BREF Scale. Results revealed that majority 64% had mild level of dependence and 58% of them have average quality of life. The study concluded that there is a need of sustainable community based rehabilitation for alcoholics to enable them to control their dependence state and improve their quality of life.
