Effectiveness on Presence of Family Member During Labour Process in Reducing Labour Pain Mrs. Shoba M. Amudha Msc(N), Staff Nurse, PHC, Kolyanur, Villupuram Online published on 5 January, 2017. Abstract A quasi experimental study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of presence of family member during labour process in reducing labour pain was conducted at Puducherry with the 30 intranatal mother's (15 in experimental, 15 in control group) were selected using convenient sampling technique. Visual analogue pain scale used for the data collection. Pain level was for assessed both the groups. The study concluded that in control group the overall mean values is 8 with the standard deviation of 1and in experimental group, the overall Mean value is 6.27 with the standard deviation of 1.98. The paired t test value of overall score of pain is highly significant at p <0.001 level.
