Abstract

A Quasi experimental time series design was used to evaluate the effectiveness of oil massage on selected parameters among sixty newborns. Selected parameters namely skin integrity, heart rate, hypothermia, frequency of feeding pattern, digestion, sleep, sign of infection, colic and gas, comfort and stress were observed by observational checklist. The findings showed that oil massage is a safe, cost effective practice in hospital settings to improve the health status of newborns.
