Abstract This paper has discussed the importance of, and problems in, the concept of 'One India One Election', and also gives suggestions to overcome the issues involved in by-elections. A new voting system may be suggested in the 2024 election. It requires an additional electronic voting machine, which contains the list of political parties classified as state, national level or unregistered parties in the region. The people are given a chance to poll their votes for the parties, then the votes received by each party is counted and published. After that, the Election Commission will declare the state and national parties based on the votes received. The Election Commission will then insist that these parties alone can participate in the next election campaign.
