Abstract According to World Health Organization (WHO) 2016 report worldwide 1.6 million individuals are overweight and 650 million are obese. India is a developing country. Obesity is one of the risk factors which increases the risk of T2DM. Worldwide, the prevalence of diabetes has increased 4 fold from 1980 to 2014. Due to urbanization and sedentary life style, the cases of obesity & T2DM are increasing rapidly in India. In present study, 372 blood samples were collected from Hospital and different areas of Delhi, and their physiological measurements and anthropometric measurements were also collected from two medical colleges, All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) New Delhi and Maharaja Agrasen Hospital New Delhi and different areas of New Delhi. In present study, Aggrawal community showing high prevalence of obese individual, in both diabetic (cases) as well as in controls individual. More than one increased risk fold was observed among both cases an control. The present study concluded that the Aggrawal community is obese and more prone to T2DM.
