Challenges of a globalised and unipolar world

Yurlov Felix N

Abstract

The present unipolar world order imposes on almost all countries a ‘liberal’ imperialistic model of development, inspired by the American system. Yet, the effects of ‘market fundamentalism’ have been traumatic, and often disastrous to national societies, from Russia to Latin America and South East Asia and the predominant economies, including the US, are also suffering from them. A global revolt against the supremacy of globalised capital is taking place and it is a manifestation of the everlasting quest for greater social justice and equity.
