Challenges of a globalised and unipolar world Yurlov Felix N Abstract The present unipolar world order imposes on almost all countries a ‘liberal’ imperialistic model of development, inspired by the American system. Yet, the effects of ‘market fundamentalism’ have been traumatic, and often disastrous to national societies, from Russia to Latin America and South East Asia and the predominant economies, including the US, are also suffering from them.
