Abstract The Advancement in metering industry in India has ushered great demand for digitalization and upgradation of smart metering system which is equipped with communication modules. Smart meters enable electricity, gas and water utilities to monitor and track the consumption by the consumers more precisely and accurately by providing the insights for pricing decision and technology to consumers which helps them to make choice in home energy consumption. These meters inform the utilities about power outages and also remotely switch electricity on or off. At the time of power failure, Lithium Ion Capacitors (LIC) with battery provide enough power backup to push the critical data of consumers to the utilities and saves the companies significant revenue. To power meter reliably and efficiently is critical, Lithium ion capacitors play an important role in keeping electricity, water or gas meter on during power failure. Top |
