Abstract The objective of this article is to improve the spaces between neighbouring sprinklers that increase the quantity and quality of crops product provided by center pivot irrigation systems without a substantial investment. This study deals with three models of center pivot irrigation by changing its sprinkler's position; the first and the second are just an artisanal machines made by craftsmen in El Oued; and the third is a modern center pivot installed in a region named El Hadjira Ouargla, Both systems are examined in the southern of Algeria. Good uniformity gives more uniform production, but irregularity may water some places either more than enough or less than required, therefore it is considered as an economic loss in terms of quantity or quality. This research process was carried on the theoretical analysis of the various equations until obtaining optimum spaces between adjacent sprinklers therefore the optimum design of the nozzle plan of a center pivot system. The obtained result show good agreement between experimental and theoretical analysis of uniformity coefficient. It also depicts that Herman and Hein's uniformity coefficient has improved by changing of sprinkler-spacing configurations.
