Sustainability: a case study of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd

Abstract

The performance of companies in 21st century has been largely influenced by the sustainability of business by means of effective governance and management. To achieve sustainable growth of business is a difficult task in an environment of rapidly changing political, economic, competitive, and consumer preferences. Each of these factors presents unique challenges to the business organizations and affecting their growth and profitability. Indian Information and Technology (IT) industry is the fastest-growing sector in the economy which has not only transformed India's image on the global platform, but also fuelled country's economic growth. This sector has contributed significantly to social and economic transformation of the country. There are various steps and efforts made by these companies achieve sustainable growth of their business in the long run. This paper tries to study the changing trends in IT sectors and the efforts made by the IT companies to achieve sustainability with a case study of TCS ltd.
