Abstract The petrochemical industry in India has been one of the fastest growing industries in India and contributing to the growth and development of manufacturing industry also. The lubricating oil and grease market being one of the most important sectors of Indian petrochem Industry is growing at around 4.5% annually with an estimated growth to the level of approximately 2 million tonnes in 2014–15. The Indian lubricants industry claims to be the fifth largest in the world with the presence of almost all major MNCs like Valvoline, Shell, Mobil, Gulf oil.
