Personal values among post graduate students - An explorative analysis

Abstract

Youth is an age when one is young, generally refers the time between childhood and adulthood. Today's Youth is full of energy, imagination, great technocrats, with very high IQ level. Over the last few decades, numerous studies have attempted to measure the attitudes, beliefs, values, behaviors, and personality traits of young generations. Some have found that the younger generation is more aware and more responsible, while others have found the opposite. The present paper is focused on the present trend of values present in young generation. It is descriptive survey. A sample of 140 P.G. students was selected by using purposive random sampling technique. Personal value questionnaire developed by Dr. G.P. Sherry and Prof. R.P. Verma was used to collect the data from the students. The findings of the study reveal that there is significant difference in values among P.G. students when they are classified according to gender and discipline.
