Abstract Purpose The paper aims at comparing the perceptions and experience(s), and of male and female tourists, which will add value in developing and marketing the tourist destinations. Researcher considered Kashid beach destination to identify the differences in the attitude of tourists. Does gender play any role in the attitude of tourists and their experiences at the destination of visit? How income of tourists pushes or pulls tourists to have or not to have experiences. Design/Methodology/Approach Research study is a combination of qualitative and quantitative type. The research design used for the study is a combination of exploratory and descriptive cross sectional type, which enabled researcher to analyze the situation at Kashid beach. Wherever required the statements are supported with the observations from the direct visits to the destination. Researcher identified 207 tourists, residents of Pune, Maharashtra, India and have visited Kashid beach at least once, through combination of judgmental and convenience sampling techniques. Findings This study provides the guidelines how to identify, analyzing factors with the help of gender and annual income of tourists, and target tourists for a destination. Further, the study could be helpful in designing the marketing campaigns and/or advertising. Research Limitations/Implications The study is carried out at a developing tourist destination: Kashid beach, Pune, Maharashtra, India. It might be possible that some of the findings pertain to the destination of the study only, and which may not be possible for the researcher to generalize to some extent. Originality/Value This research is part of the researcher's PhD study, which aims at contributing to developing tourists destinations and in turn helping the government to add to revenue.
