Relevance of D.EL.ED. course for development of personality Pal Santosh Research Scholar, Department of Education, University of Allahabad Online published on 10 September, 2019. Abstract This research paper is an attempt to study the relevance of D. El. Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) course for development of personality of student teachers. D. El. Ed. course students (N=92) were tested on five traits of personality. Personality was assessed with the help of Five Personality Trait Inventory developed by K.S. Misra. t-test was used to analyze the data. D. El. Ed. I and D. El. Ed. III semester students have shown equal ‘Conscientiousness’, ‘Openness, ‘Agreeableness’, and ‘Extraversion’ traits of personality but D. El. Ed. III semester students have shown higher neuroticism than D. El. Ed. I semester students. Male and female D. El. Ed. students did not differ ‘Conscientiousness’, ‘Openness, ‘Neuroticism’, ‘Agreeableness’, and ‘Extraversion’ traits of personality. Urban and rural D. El. Ed. students exhibit equal ‘Conscientiousness’, ‘Openness, ‘Neuroticism’, ‘Agreeableness’, and ‘Extraversion’ traits of personality.
