School teachers’ classroom verbal behaviour teaching in government basic schools with regards to their mental health Dr. Sharma Rakesh Kumar Associate Professor, Department of Education, C.C.S. Abstract The behaviour of the teacher not only as a person but also as a teacher is predominantly controlled by his emotional behaviour, which in turn depends upon the degree of emotional intelligence possessed by him. In the modern world we need not just competent teachers, but teachers, who can question own actions and who are able to envisage new forms of professionalism. We cannot leave the importance of mental health aside when we are talking about the class room behavior of a teacher. Therefore teacher's behavior depends on the mental health too. It was observed that the variation exists between two groups and dispersion within the groups is of greater importance. This variation was studied by using appropriate statistical techniques interpretation was made on the basis of so obtained statistical values of different variables. The research was conducted in Government Basic Schools of UP comes under the jurisdiction of Basic Education Council Uttar Pradesh Government and located in Meerut District. Descriptive survey method was used to collect the data. It was found that Government Basic School Teachers with Good Mental Health are better in their verbal behavior and the dimensions clarity, enthusiasm, interaction, organization, pacing, disclosure, speech, and rapport dimensions of their verbal behavior in comparison with Government Basic School Teachers with Poor Mental Health.
