Apart from sugar and water it also contains vitamins, especially B complex and vitamin C. Honey has properties of antimicrobial, antibacterial and antifungal. These properties promote in healing of wounds and reduction in bacterial growth. Honey is also known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidants properties as well.
