Abstract A total of 90 subjects were divided into three equal groups of 30 samples each based on their growth pattern, determined with the help of lateral cephalogram, viz. normal, hypodivergent and hyperdivergent. Each group consisted of 15 males and 15 females. Dermatoglyphic pattern of all the 10 fingers were recorded for all the samples were recorded according to method described by Cumins. An increased presence of loops were observed in hypodivergent growth pattern followed by whrols and arches and increased presence of whrols was observed in hyperdivergent growth pattern followed by loops and arches. An increased discordance score was observed in average growth pattern with nearly same distribution of loops and whrols and in increased presence of arches as compared to hypodivergent and hyperdivergent subjests was observed in average gowth pattern.
