Abstract Every human has divine right to look human, replacement of lost maxillofacial structures with prosthesis is the blessings of god given to prosthodontist, but the most common problem faced by the patients is the inadequate retention of the prosthesis in place. Keeping this in mind an effort has been made in this paper to introduce various retentive aids to retain maxillofacial prosthesis. Paper has been divided into two parts, in 1st part retentive aids for intraoral prosthesis and in 2nd part retentive aids for extraoral prosthesis.
