Enzyme treated agro waste of maize and production of biogas Chandratre S. J., Narkhede K. Abstract Present study deals with the enzymatic treatment of maize agro waste for biogas production. Three enzymes viz. laccase, cellulase, xylanase and their mixtures were utilized for pre-treatment of crop residues of maize. The effect of these treatments has been discussed in terms of Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) analysis. Enhancement in methane production up to 50.70% was observed when the biomass was pretreated with laccase, while cellulase treatment increased the production of methane by 36.59%. However, xylanase failed to improve methane production. Top Keywords Agro waste, Biogas, Enzymatic pretreatment. Top |
