Effect of seed pelleting with chemicals and bioagents on storage of sesame seeds (Sesamum indicum L.) Arunakumar, Vasudevan S. N., Dangi Sandeep, Dhanraj Department of Seed Science and Technology, College of Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur 584 102, Karnataka, India Online published on 28 February, 2013. Abstract Seeds pelleted with carbendazim (2 g/kg) recorded maximum germination (81.50%), root length (3.39 cm), shoot length (2.60 cm), seedling length (5.99 cm), vigour index (453), dry matter production (39.16 mg), dehydrogenase activity (0.401 OD), speed of germination (19.48) with lower moisture content (5.90) and EC values (0.405 dSm−1) followed by seeds pelleted with carbendazim (2 g/kg) + CaOCl2 (3 g/kg). The seed quality parameters were significantly lower in the un-pelleted seeds. Top Keywords Sesame, seed pelleting, storage, seed quality, binder, filler, chemical. Top |
