In vitro anti-inflammatory activity of pre-clitellar extract of Eudrilus eugeniae Falak Yogita Y., Iqbal Uzma Naaz Shaikh, Mahajan Namrata G., Chopda Manojkumar Z. Department of Zoology, Animal House Division, Moolji Jaitha (Autonomous) College, Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Maharashatra, India-425002 Online published on 19 June, 2020. Abstract The aqueous extract of Pre-Clitellar region of Eudrilus eugeniae (PAE) was tested for in vitro anti-inflammatory activity. The test sample exhibited significant membrane stabilization activities (50.3 ± 0.53, 62.23 ± 0.43 and 99.43 ± 0.11% at 10, 20 and 30 mg/ml concentrations of PAE respectively), while the standard (Aspirin; 100 μg/ml) exhibited 61.2 ± 2.76% protection. Purification of active principle from the extract may enhance membrane stabilization activity. Top Keywords Eudrilus eugeniae, Anti-inflammatory, Heat induced hemolysis, membrane Stabilization. Top |
