Abstract In vitro investigations to study the effect of some growth regulators viz., NAA, IAA and IBA on the rooting of carnation shootlets revealed that IBA @ 0.5 mg L−1 significantly influenced all the parameters studied. Maximum rooting (90.66%), number of roots formed (4.70 explant−1) and root length (1.47 cm explant−1) was achieved in shootlets cultured in MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg L−1 IBA.
