Social science achievement in D.Ed teacher

Abstract

The present study reports the social science achievement of second year D.Ed. trainees. Achievement test developed by the investigator on concepts like fill up the blanks, multiple choice, match the following, classification, true/false was employed to measure the influence of students studying government and private D.Ed. colleges as well as students having medium and high levels of intelligence. Two – way ANOVA was employed to find out the significance of difference between trainees studying in government and private D.Ed. colleges as well as students with medium and high levels of intelligence. Results revealed that government D.Ed college trainees have scored better marks in fill up the blanks and classification aspects. While private D.Ed college trainees have scored higher marks in multiple choice and match the following aspects. A subject with higher intelligence has score significantly higher marks in all the sub divisions except true are false. Indicating positive influence of intelligence on scores. Government D.Ed. colleges students with higher intelligence have scored better marks in fill up the blanks group and private D.Ed college trainees with average intelligence have scored better marks in multiple choice. Also higher intelligence private D.Ed. college trainees have scored better marks in match the following aspects.
