Abstract

The role of virtues in understanding ethics and thereby its application in business is a heated topic of discussion and implication today. It is true that organization stands and moves for development accompanied by profit but the means by which the successive movements are made should be based on ethical principles. Simply talking about virtues does not solves the purpose, it is exclusively an organization perspective how it views, designs, develops and adopts ethics based culture where every action has a purpose aimed at holistic development. The present paper focuses based on different practices at well known organizations the difference they make and how they integrate ethics with routine functions. Business cannot isolate society, community and common goals of Nation at large so it is important to understand how virtues can be translated in a way to be related with routine working of organization thus rebuilding the culture, direction and creating a competitive advantage for the organization. The present paper will help in providing insight on how business virtues can help in running business ethical based viewing and considering the macro objectives at large. In other way it will also provide direction to organization to assess how far they stand in terms of practicing ethical workplaces. This will help in creating a transparent work culture, commonality and congruence in achieving goals of organization.
