The proposal of information and service marketing via the website of National Library and Archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide a proposal for information and service marketing via the website of National Library and Archives of Islamic Republic of Iran according to website marketing assessment factors. This study is an applied one, and uses the analytical-survey method. The statistical population of the study consists of 30 marketing specialists of the library. The data is collected through the questionnaire. In the first stage, the status of the website is totally observed to find out which marketing factor is regarded. Then, the website is evaluated according to four assessment marketing factors. The data is analyzed through SPSS software. The results indicate that two factors that have strength on the website of National Library include the potential users; and the information provided for users (with mean of above 3) and also two factors of information and service pricing methods; and the information and service promotion methods (with mean of less than 3) are the factors with weakness on the website of National Library. Given the significant difference among four factors above, the research hypothesis regarding the significant difference among the marketing factors on the website of National Library and Archives of Islamic Republic of Iran is confirmed. The proposal of information and service marketing by website of National Library and Archives of Islamic Republic of Iran is presented according to the obtained results in this study.
