Institutional mechanism for renewable energy in India: A Bird's eye view

Abstract

Surges in the development of renewable, mainly wind and solar are the off shoots of bonded infrastructure initiatives in India since 1992 and resulted to bag 5th rank in Wind energy capacity in the world. The Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission launched in 2009 is designed to make India a global solar leader in the years to come. Tariff framework, fiscal incentives, remunerative returns for power fed in to grid provide a conducive environment to private investors in India and from abroad. Institutional mechanism in renewable energy sector is the back bone for admirable strides in the renewable energy sector.
