Abstract Investigations on the biological attributes of the coccinellid predator Coeeinella septempunetata associated with rice agro-ecosystems revealed that its pre-oviposition period was 7.52±0.34 days and the fecundity 661.49±13.33 eggs/female when reared at 27°C and 70–80% relative humidity. Mean egg period ranged between 1.76±O.l6 days. The developmental period of I, II, III and IV instar was 1.6±0.15, 1.4±O.11, 1.96±O.l2 and 2.68±0.l6 days, respectively. The average pupal period was observed to be 7.52±0.34 days. The measurement of eggs, different instars of larvae, pupae and adults taken were analysed and the different stages illustrated.
