Efficacy of Fungicides for the Control of Bakanae Disease of Rice Biswas S., Das S.N. Department of Plant Pathology, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia 741 252, India Abstract Six fungicides were studied by poison food technique, the fungicides varied considerably in their toxicity to the pathogen. Bavistin, emisan-6 and benomyl were the most inhibitory with ED50 values of O.80, 0.87 and 1.51 ppm, respectively. The five fungicides, namely bavistin, emisan-6, benomyl, indofil M-45 and captan used for seed soaking, significantly reduced the seed-borne inoculum. Although none of them provided complete eradication but significantly reduced the disease incidence in field and significantly increased the yield.
