Efficacy of Herbicides for Controlling Weeds in Wheat with Special Reference to Phalaris minor Azad B.S., Reen A. S., Singh Mahinder Division of Agronomy, S.K Univ. of Agri. Sci. & Tech., R. S. Pura, Jammu, 181102, India Abstract Application of metribuzin at 140 and 175 g/ha 34 days after sowing of wheat, significantly reduced the dry matter of Phalaris minor alongwith other broadleaved weeds but remained statistically at par with weed free treatment. Similarly, grain yield of these treatments was also at par and remained significantly superior to rest of the treatments during both the years. Isoproturon applied at 1000g/ha was next m superiority in respect of grain yield and proved to be significantly superior to sulfosulfuron (26.6 and 33.3 g/ha), clodinafop (50 and 60 g/ha), fenoxapropethyl (60 and 80 g/ha) and tralkoxydim (350 g/ha), clodinafop (50 and 60 g/ha), fenoxapiopethy (60 and 80 g/ha) and tralkoxydim (350 g/ha) were ineffective in controlling broadleaved weeds as compaied to sulfosulfuron (26.6 and 33.3 g/ha).
