Abstract A ratoon crop was maintained under sick plot of lesion nematode, Pratylenchus zeae to evaluate various eco-friendly management strategies. Application of carbofuran @ 1 kg a.i/ha served as standard check alone with one untreated check. Experimental results revealed that, all the evaluated management strategies caused significant reduction in population of lesion nematodes in soil samples taken at different intervals compared to untreated check. Maximum and significant reduction in lesion nematode population in soil was observed in plots incorporated with combination of all the treatments compared to the untreated control. Significant increase in the cane yield, commercial cane sugar percentage and sugar yield of canes was noted as compared to untreated check.
